Since the 1840s Brazil has been the largest international coffee trader, producing one third of the world’s coffee. Often white labelled for mass market brands the generations of coffee knowledge have rarely been celebrated. Simply Brazilian was born to change this. A single-minded coffee brand on a mission to deliver excellence consistently from farm to cup.

We were approached to define a foundational brand strategy and visual identity system to bring Simply Brazilian to life. Working with the founders we developed a core set of values that celebrated the heritage of Brazil’s incredible coffee industry and defined a brand positioning – Perfected by Generations.

The identity was inspired by the rich cultural themes across Brazil from the lush Amazon rainforest to the world famous sandy beaches of Ipanema. The unique features of these wonderful geographical locations helped define a suite of graphic patterns for the brand. Each one tells a bespoke story of Brazil. The feather flair of the Simply Brazilian ‘B’ originated from the plumage of the Blue Macaw. As part of the visual identity system, we crafted a bespoke quality seal as a mark of excellence.

The colour palette was shaped by the natural beauty and vibrance of Brazil. The colours were applied effectively across the brand’s range to define the variety of coffee roasts – Classico (Green), Intenso (Purple) and Decaf (Blue). We designed a suite of packaging for ground coffee, beans, capsules and drip bags.
