Announcing Global Ghana

The Africa Institute announced Global Ghana, the second edition of its ‘country-focused season’—an annual initiative exploring one African country or African diaspora community through a range of scholarly and public programs. Global Ghana is organized by The Africa Institute in collaboration with leading scholars Akosua Adomako Ampofo, Jean Allman, Carina Ray, and Joseph Oduro-Frimpong.

Moloobhoy & Brown have been working with The Africa Institute team to develop the visual language for the Global Ghana communication materials. The design system will celebrate Ghanian culture through Kente handwoven textile design as well as Adinkra symbols for their evocative messages and decorative designs. The first design (shown above) utilised for the initial announcement is inspired by the ‘Fathia Fata Nkrumah/Fathia Befits Nkrumah’ kente weave.
